We had a nice welcome at the restaurant..(only person at Restaurant who knew her job well), wehre led to a very small table for two. Interieur was according to the location a country restaurant, maybe a bit dark.Our waiter, we did not really understand the concept, be cause we where waited onnby several different persons. One seemd to be the chef the service. We ordered a good bottle of rather expensive wine. The bottle was brought, opend and than we noticed it had the wron year! For an expert a significant difference. Anyhow the chef the service tryed to sell us this wine and obviously did not know the differnce in the slightest.We are not difficult people but if we go to a place where food...

We dropped in when passing and were surprised at the size of the restaurant and number of people having a thursday lunch. We chose the Hirschrücken for 2 and had a memorable meal which was eveyrthing one could expect for this typical 'Wild' dish in Switzerland. the meal is seved in two services which means that the food comes beautifully presented and of course warm.Very good value for money for such a perfectly executed meal. No dessert space left but these looked very good as we watched them pass to people with larger appetites than ours. The wine list is excellent (no New Zealanders though) with 3/8 and 500ml bottles, perfect for lunch with one person having to drive. Service was attentiv...

As a Swiss residing in Asia, I return to Switzerland a few times per year, and there is now only one destination: Rössli Illnau. It's by far the best restaurant in the region, and also offers 6 hotel rooms. The menue choice is huge, and if you feel like eating something which is not on the menue, just talk to the staff or the manager René Kaufmann, and they will do everything to comply with your request. I had maybe something like 50 diners there, and none of them gave a reason for a complaint. And: the restaurant is always full, without service level suffering. We booked a table for dinner at a comparatively late time by Swiss standards. The Roessli team was very forthcoming about it. The place was very crowded when we arrived. This notwithstanding, we were served quickly and effectively. Good and friendly service, solid and well executed Swiss cuisine and an interesting selection of wines. Importantly in the greater Zurich area, the Roessli also provides good value. The restaurant itself is loud, which is a pity. Parking can be a challenge when the place is quite full. We went to the Rössli with our friends, and they now know why we love this restaurant! The food was excellent, we choose a menu gourmet. What a delicious foie gras!! To die for... Unfortunately, i could not have the wild boar i was so looking forward to eating, as it was not glutenfree... But the cook did present an other type of meat in the same way. The service is also extremely attentive, as caters to all our wishes. All in all a great experience for the gourmets - and the gourmands !

We came to Rössli for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by their nice garden. You can eat in the shade of trees. They have a choice of five different menus, from simple lunch menu for 18.50 to the fancy gourmet for 98 CHF. We went for the fit and healthy option and both found it fantastic. First a fresh salad and then a perfectly cooked basil risotto topped with burrata cheese.Also the dessert was light and tasty!

The restaurant Rössli is definitively the best gourmet restaurant in the region. They serve regional food and the chefs perform on a very high level. The service is also professional. I have eaten here as a couple and with a group of people as well...and the product is on a high level each time.
