I recently dined with friends at a local favorite, Japanese Steak House/Habachi style restaurant that has been in business since 1989. The place is Rokbonki Japanese Steakhouse in Arlington Heights. I highly recommend you make reservations if you decide to dine here. The day that we went it was extremely busy and luckily we did have reservations. The restaurant looks somewhat dated on one side; there are hibachi grills on the other side and there are regular tables. We were sat within minutes of us arriving. We decided upon doing the hibachi style dinner. The dinner was like every other hibachi style restaurant. You pick your protein and then there's also add ons. I will say to definitely go...
Worth the price.... The combinations and single meat dishes include Salad, soup, rice, noodles and ice cream the protein you order. The service was very quick and we got our food ready in front of us in less than 30 mins after we seated. The place decently busy for a Friday. I ordered Chicken and Shrimp combination Hibachi Chicken and Spicy garlic Shrimp My girlfriend ordered Teriyaki Chicken with Salmon. In the end we were ask which ice cream and we both ordered rainbow Sherbet. Everything was really good. Except they didn't have any Yum Yum sauce and no house made hot sauce. Definitely worth trying.
We had to wait a long time to be seated and the restaurant was very noisy. The customer service was poor as my grandson ordered one item but was brought something completely different. When we informed the staff, they did not apologize and brought him another incorrect item. We were charged for both meals, which we decided to leave. Additionally, we were celebrating a birthday but were disappointed when it was not acknowledged. The high prices have deterred us from returning in the future. Overall, we will not be going back to this restaurant.
long waiting time, very loud, poor customer service. my grandson ordered articles and was brought something else. when we explained that it was not what he wanted, offered no excuse and brought him something else, not what was asked. for both dinners we leave. also had a birthday that was very disappointed when they did not recognize it. We're not going back. with their high prices they also have us from return price.

The food is incredible. I understand this restaurant has been in existence for a long time as well it should. The lobster was exquisite, the steak was tender and seasoned beautifully. The vegetables were great, the noodles very tasty, salad dressing very good. Soup was fine nothing out of the ordinary, and we had a great time
After a team building event, I took my team to this restaurant and it was perfect! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was conducive to casual conversation, and the staff was fun and friendly. I will definitely come back again.
Been dining here for years. Since new owners, the service is off. Too many new cooks and servers that do not seem to like people. The food is good but prices too high for a family dinner. Special occasions only for us.
The chef was friendly and the whole experience was enjoyable and entertaining. The service was excellent.
