Arrived at 3.30pm and restaurant still had people in but could see staff looked liked they were packing up. Ordered tuna melt and 2 teas price outrageous just under £20! Food arrived had to send back as was semi cold staff didnt seem to care. Food came back warm. During our time in restaurant could here an argument in the kitchen and heard what they expect to come in here at 4 and then complain obvious was talking about us as they pointed and looked in our direction. When we left I said have you a problem ? They looked sheepish and said if you want to slag your customers off maybe do it quietly and dont point at us when someone asks who you were talking about and get your facts right we did...
My family and I have been meeting up for decades in the Rooms store cafe and have never been disappointed , until yesterday. By 1.30 there was not a lot left on offer , the plates were cold and the price was steep , the manager was taking the money on the till , he was so abrupt that we were a little scared !! There was nobody to clear our table after lunch to make room for our coffee and desserts and when we asked the manager again he replied “no table service lady “ . Please do not let this review stop you from visiting the store itself, I personally think that the manager of the cafe should go seek some help and training from any one of the excellent and professional sales team .
A Facebook entry from staff member Charlotte began a series of posts and texts that solved my mystery.... I had lost treasured photos, with apparent scraps of paper containing info like the contact of a witness to a no fault accident I had! Apparently I had dropped these items from the case of my mobile. Today staff at Roomes reunited me with these photos (of my lovely wife), my scraps of paper and a comb. It may sound silly, but these things are so important to me especially in these times. The directors of Roomes need to know that this customer is so impressed with your staff. Thank you. Merry Christmas! Duncan
my wife had the tuna melt which came with salad, the salad was terrible, brown round the sides and dry, looking days old, when I spoke with one of the staff she just shrugged her shoulders I asked if she would like to eat it to which she answered I don't eat salad !!!!!! I told her that it should never have been served to which she replied I'll take it and show to the chef !!!!! that was the last I heard on the issue,,, a restaurant should never serve food like this Reserva una mesa ahora
I had scampi and chips, which were fine if nothing special. There was supposed to be tartare sauce with the meal but there was none. When I queried this, I was given a couple of sachets of tartare sauce which was not as good as fresh tartare sauce. The apple strudel is lovely. Perhaps a little on the expensive side now, but still reasonable value.
Dirty cups and small portions for the price, asked for a clean replacement mug for tea and was given a dirtier one. There was also a fly in my milk and when I told staff they couldn’t care less! Staff are rude and unhelpful, over priced and when I emailed to complain I was just ignored! Never visiting again! Begrudge giving it even a 1*
