I am working away in Finsbury Park and thought that the best place to eat would be Roosters Piri Piri as it looked clean and smart from outside. I would like to add the lad who served me was really helpful and had good customer service skills. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and double chicken wrap with a side of mash. When it came out the first half of the wrap was okay and I ate it. But when I got to the other side it was pink and undercooked. The mash was cold and just preheated. I went to tell them at the counter and they asked if I’d like another one cooked. Obviously the answer was no as I’d been put off by what I’d already had a bite out of. I came here to eat before going to the Emirates stadium. It was clear to me from the outset the service was a bit slow. After finally having my order and money taken I then had to wait far more than the 15 minutes I was told I would have to wait. The excuse given was the ordering system. Never mind. The food was ok. The lemon and herb chicken wings and half chicken with chips and coleslaw was tasty. The only disappointment is that the lemon is clearly out of a bottle, hence why the lemon taste seems artificial and too zingy. I couldn’t make out any herbs. This place is awesome for its price point honestly. I’ve eaten here a few times but I stumbled in late last night (1.30am) and was greeted by super friendly, smiley staff. The place was clean/tidy enough. The staff were happy to offer advice. I took my food home and it was still steaming by the time I sat down to eat. Consistently good and a jewel in the crown of Finsbury Park’s pretty poor chicken scene. The food is reasonably healthy depending on your choice of sides. My only slight gripe is that I wish they offered a NON Halal option. I’d definitely eat here more often if they did.
The food at this restaurant is delicious, and the delivery drivers are kind. However, I would not recommend ordering from Justeat at 10:20pm on a Tuesday, as the restaurant has canceled my order at 10:45pm three weeks in a row. I used to order from this place once a week, but I will not be doing so anymore. It seems like they need to adjust their opening times or hire staff who are willing to work until closing. Went last Saturday with my kids for a bite, 3 burgers and a plate of tiny chicken wings (the smallest ones I’ve ever seen in my life) came up to £31.00, not complaining about the price but about the quantity. Good place to have a bite, could be crowded and busy and the staff needs to have a kind eye in how they clean tables and serve customers as sometimes is about perception that makes the different, the place needs to have a rebuilt, looks tired and scruffy. The food at this restaurant is fresh and you can watch it being cooked in the open kitchen before it's served at your table. They offer various flavors of chicken, from plain to spicy. The location is convenient with bus, train, and subway stations right next to the restaurant. There is also a great pub next door where you can enjoy drinks before your meal or use as a meeting spot.
I am extremely disappointed. I have ordered from this restaurant before and was happy with the experience, but this time was terrible. It was obvious that the food was not prepared by someone with clean hands, and there was a strong smell of feces coming from the wrap. Additionally, the order we received was incorrect. I cannot recommend this restaurant.
