Polite, helpful and friendly they contribute to a very warming atmosphere and engage well with the locals and tourists The food. I had the king prawn starter with chilli and garlic. Great portion, extremely tasty and great value for the price. My only problem was that I couldn’t get enough of it. My main was the panko chicken burger, the chicken was moist the panko batter was perfect, it came with skin on fries and onion rings which accompanied it perfectly (I declined the slaw and veg). From ringing to book a table to leaving the building the staff were amazing! Nothing was a problem. Our 2 waiters tonight, 23.8.23 were brilliant! (Wish I’d got their names! We asked to taste some sauces before we ordered and the waiter and kitchen staff were very accommodating!! The service was excellent and the staff could not be anymore friendly. We had 2 beef sizzling stir fry’s with Szechuan sauce, Salmon with potatoes and veg, and a red Thai chicken curry, followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. The food was fantastic! Everyone said it was delicious. We could not fault anything and will definitely be back! Well done Rose Crown; hospitality at its best!
Called in on Monday night, hadn't booked first but they found us a table. We both had steak and ale pie. There was plenty of tasty filling and the meat was beautifully cooked. We both had chunky chips and veg. It was a superb meal, we didn't have to wait long and it tasted fantastic. The portions were huge but we still managed to find room for pud. Well worth a visit if you're ever in Ulverston.
We called in, by chance, on a Sunday evening. Although it was fairly busy inside, there was a large covered outside area, which we were quite happy to sit in. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had lovely meals, at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Would highly recommend this for food service. Lovely home cooked food and plenty of options for dairy and gluten free too. Even a dairy free cheesecake base isn’t gf . Dogs welcome and service was very good too. We went 2 nights running.
Stopped for Sunday Lunch and it was exceptional. Brisket Beef fell apart and everything was cooked to perfection. Plenty of veg and meat you would not be disappointed. Highly reccomend.
We are here on holiday and a friend recommended this pub. Thank god they did. The food was fantastic. Great portions. Lovely staff and nothing was too much trouble. Delightful time had.
Visited this place today with my family and a friend. We all had different plates and the food was terrific. Also lots of choice on drinks. I’d certainly recommend it.

The food was good. Staff very welcoming, polite and made every effort to accommodate our requests. We had 3 Spaniels with us, so a quieter corner suited us.
Great service and a lovely Sunday Lunch with the staff having to deal with a flash flood coming through the pub ! Nothing to much trouble. Brilliant Food
