Popped in for lunch on a busy Saturday after hearing good reviews and must say we were impressed. Rose Cottage is a lovely, welcoming traditional cafe, not trying to be anything its not which is so refreshing. At first glance the menu is a standard range of sandwiches, panini and jacket potatoes, but between us we tried all three and the standard really is excellent. Mum declared her panini the best she’s ever had, and my husband tucked into his hearty JP with chilli and cheese. Great quality ingredients and obviously prepared with much care. At around £8 per head including coffees we felt we’d had great value for money too. We’ll be back soon for a cream tea, several people were enjoying fresh scones and we just couldn’t quite find room. Thanks ever so much

A favourite is the cheese and onion toasted sandwich, but recently an open vegetable toasted sandwich has been added to the menu and maybe my new favourite. During the lockdowns ordered afternoon tea to be delivered. The ordinary one is great, but so is the cheese one. Had both together to give us a savoury and sweet treat. Wide range of teas offered, plus coffees and milkshakes. The staff will adapt the menu to any requests if they can.

Visited for 1st time today Monday 21st March 2022. We were the only customers for a while. A very good menu and price wise was very good. I liked that they did gluten free toast which was very nice with marmalade. Coffees were ok, were very hot but to us not strong enough. Staff didnt seem very sociable at all. Do have a toilet but i found the whole property hard going with 3 steps to the counter and more to visit the loo.

A lovely little spot in my local town. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The service is always great, it’s always very busy which is a credit to the place. Food is amazing, I highly recommend the Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Panini which is served with a few tortilla chips. Also give the ice cream milkshakes a try :
