Perhaps the friendliest pub we've ever visited! We hadn't planned on stopping by a pub, but after a lovely walk, we couldn't resist the opportunity. Although we didn't have masks, the staff generously provided us with some, allowing us to order and make use of the indoor facilities if needed. We enjoyed our drinks while sitting by the river, taking in the scenery. The staff was wonderful and attentive, even bringing water and treats for our puppies. The beer was great, and it's a pity we couldn't stay longer because the food looked fantastic as well!
We discovered this lovely spot through an app called Pubwalks. After parking, we enjoyed a two-mile circular trail nearby and then stopped by the Rose and Crown Biergarten for a beer before heading home. The staff inside were pleasant, friendly, and very helpful. The prices were reasonable, and the restrooms were more than adequate. The beer garden is picturesque, with views of the canal and surrounding fields. Definitely a recommended stop!
Brilliant local boozer on the canal, with a secret weapon: the quality of their steaks (both cuts and chef). Generous portions off a pretty standard bar menu (steak, steak pie, steak sandwich, mixed grill etc), and perfectly executed. Not really for vegetarians (1980's style limited choice) and decor on the shabby rustic side with a thousand fairy lights over the top. A great walkers' refuelling point.
Had lunch at the Rose and Crown Inn with two ex work friends. The canal-side setting was lovely. Hot sunshine and a cool breeze across the water. The drinks were good, the food delicious, and the bar staff were friendly and efficient. A very pleasant, well decorated and comfortable country pub, with plenty of parking space. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a good meal and was very pleased with both the food and the service. The dishes we ordered were excellent, and the staff was wonderful—always ready to assist. I will definitely be back in the future!
Beautiful location on the canal with a good beer garden and a selection of questions. Nice staff, easy writing and a practical sanitising station. Deanna and boats are passing.
Nice canal side pub. Good food, Good beer. You can sit outside by the canal if you wish. However even inside you can still view it.
Had a lovely afternoon here. The staff were very friendly. Nice garden to sit out in.
