Instant service as we were first in for dinner. Eventually 3 other table became occupied so very little business being done. Food was very good, however baulked at having any bread at £6.50 per portion, so nothing to mop up the sauce had to request a spoon for this task. Toilets and passage down to them were decidedly tatty with scuffed walls and doors, not what you would expect for a west end restaurant charging those prices. Also I have never liked establishments that decide how much tip (12.5% they are going to charge you on top of high end prices, makes eating out even more expensive.
Classic offering on menus, generally well presented and tasty. Service is exemplary and winelist just excellent. However, the surroundings are extremely tired and well beyond redecoration, and customer lavatories are disgraceful and the kitchen pass area is offputting. Is it living on its name? which WAS good.
Wonderful smart restaurant and delightfully quiet so I could actually hear my guest speak. This is a novelty in London these days. Fish superbly cooked and super-fresh. Pleasant and unobtrusive service. Good value too. I will be back. Thank you.
It was quiet on Tuesday night so the restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere but it was a great meal which brought back memories of visits gone by

Good English restaurant. Fish and chips comes with unlimited chips. The sticky toffee pudding is a must and definitely makes the meal!
Quite good steak and potato fries. Reasonable prices on Jermyn Street. Good for a casual business dinner or night out before a show.
Extremely poor service, not a good value for money. So sad since it was previously one of our favorite places to go to in London.
Yesterday, I went with a friend to Rowleys which is perfectly situated in the quiet road near Piccadilly Circus on Jerym Street.
