RSL Bistro-Restaurant

This restaurant (The Scallop Pot Bistro) is part of the RSL hotel although it may be run separately. If so, then this review does not reflect on the RSL, although they must take some responsibility for allowing such an undertaking to operate under their name. In short, in over six weeks of travelling through Australia, from Darwin to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and numerous towns between, this was the worst dining experience of all, both in terms of service and food. Wanted somewhere to have a nice Chinese meal without having to book in. The RSL was the place to go. I had the Sweet and Sour Pork whilst my partner had the Honey chicken. Shared a large fried rice also. The meals were served very quickly, considering there were quite a few people already there. As with most club meals, these were generous portions that will satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. Staff were very friendly and the dining room was comfortable and stylish. Overall a pleasant dining experience. Recommended to all. Will be back.

We enjoyed a lovely Chinese meal last week. Good quality food with generous portions. The staff were friendly but as it go closer to "knock off time" they let their guard down and socialised a bit too loudly. Otherwise the meal was fine.

Good little menu and very pleasant atmosphere. The staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. It is in a great location and well worth a visit

We found the meals quite expensive and if wee had known, we would have ordered takeaway, as this was almost half price.
