Pub restaurant with a big reputation for seafood. Just had to try it. Menu is extensive which is also on a blackboard, with a wide range of fresh fish choices (with their origins), seafood dishes and some choices for meat eaters. Prices are on the high side, for food that is not that special, and can be experienced elsewhere. You have a choice of shared or individual dishes. We tried the Whitebait Fritters which was the most expensive entrée at $40! What we received was not what we expected. The fitters were nothing more than small omelettes with a smattering of whitebait on top. Could not taste the whitebait. We all selected our favourite fish. The chilli prawns at Rubiras are hands down the best I have ever had. In fact, they are so good that I give them a perfect 5 rating on their own. Everyone in our group of 5 was satisfied with their meals. The service was friendly, relaxed, and seamless. I also tried some calamari and bugs, both of which were delicious. The beer-battered whiting I ordered was fresh, crispy, and generously portioned. They have a selection of cold beers on tap, a great wine list, and even serve espresso martinis for dessert. Overall, it was a great night at Rubiras and I will definitely be going back.

Attended Rubiras midweek, it was very busy. The seafood is excellent our group had, oysters, barramundi spring rolls, Moreton bay bugs, chilli prawns, calamari and deserts.If there was a low light it was probably the calamari which seemed more to the size of popcorn so probably wouldn’t order that next time.The deserts were a massive hit and the staff efficient on every level without being in your face.A lot of seafood restaurants like to send the dishes out with rice or other fillers, not Rubiras you get exactly what you ordered. Looking forward to going back.

I can’t really fault this place at all. It is a bit older in devour but it works. The bar is right there but it works. It’s always busy and that’s a testament to the brilliant staff and the excellent cooking of the variety of seafood on the menu. <br/ <br/ It’s pricey, this isn’t your local fish and chip shop, this is serious seafood with some sides. We have consistently had amazing experiences at this restaurant. The fish and seafood are fantastic, with a seasonal menu that changes regularly and a large specials board. The service staff is great, always willing to make recommendations and check with the chef for special requests. They also have kid-friendly options on the menu, but the atmosphere is mostly geared towards adults in the evening. We love this place and will definitely be returning.

Fantastic fish food !!! There are some alternatives to fish available but who cares. Bugs,prawns and flathead were exceptional. Crispy chips . Staff were excellent. Not especially noisey.Easy to have table conversation without needing hearing aids .lol. Wonderful place to have a meal in any weather. YUM Thanks to my husband and crew for sharing my birthday with me

This seafood restaurant is one of my favorites in town. They offer a great variety of fresh seafood selections that are cooked in a healthy way. The dishes have a fresh taste that I absolutely love.
