Rumba Island Grill

The server spent more time with the table next to me, who was a childhood friend he hadn't seen in a long time. He did not attend to me when needed. I wanted to change my order, but he was not available. He returned to chat with his friends instead of checking on me or bringing my food promptly. When I asked for my check, I had barely eaten any of my food due to the uncomfortable atmosphere. The staff showed immaturity and bias, and it seemed like they made an effort to make me feel uncomfortable. I felt like they failed at providing good service and I won't be returning to a place where I am not treated with respect. The overall experience was disappointing.

Updated on 08/27/24 with a new manager providing even better service. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I adore this restaurant; the food is fantastic, the staff is incredible, and the atmosphere is definitely worth visiting for. However, the downside is that the current manager on duty is not only rude and condescending to the employees but also seems to avoid making eye contact with anyone. When we had a minor issue with one of our orders, our waiter approached the manager, who was standing right next to our table, but he never acknowledged us or looked our way; instead, he just instructed to replace the dish.

After watching a beautiful sunset, we spotted Rumba from the road and decided to stop in. We were seated promptly and waited just a few minutes for our server Ray to welcome us and take our drink orders. My friend had the seafood gumbo, while I opted for the Caesar salad. Ray also brought out some delicious muffins before our meals arrived. My salad was tasty, and my friend's gumbo was full of flavor. The staff was friendly, the music was relaxing and fun, making for a great way to end our last night in Clearwater. Thanks, Rumba!

The outdoor dining experience and the service were both excellent at this restaurant. The food was top-notch and perfect for any day of the week. If you haven't tried Rumba yet, now would be a great time to visit.

The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming and budget-friendly! The portion sizes are very generous.
