Trip down memory lane with two very tired children in tow to Mummy’s university town. Dropped into Rummers, having told them how much I used to enjoy the place back in the day before google reviews. It was very quiet on a chilly wet afternoon, but as beautiful as it ever was, with the perfect combination of traditional and quirky. The staff on duty today could not have been kinder. Lovely drinks and delicious food, and the boys were offered crayons and paper, and were even allowed to play with their new toys in the sawdust on the floor. I must have visited on an off night because the service was terrible. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited over an hour for our simple order of burgers and chips. The wait was so long that my friend had to take her dessert to-go in order to catch her train. The food was lacking in flavor and extremely dry. I will not be returning to this establishment.
they have a very impressive menu with a strong focus on vegan meals. I have the vegan quarter pounder that was really good, and the vegan unpack that was unfortunately a bit dry, but still pleasant! the crispy Kale bites were also beautiful. I wanted to come back to taste the desserts – I had no room again last time I went
must have caught her in a bad night. they were not busy, but we waited more than an hour for our food, only burger and chips. we waited so long that my friend had to take her sweetly or she missed her train. the food was dry and tasteless. I'm not going back.

This was my first visit to the restaurant and I found it to be a nice venue. However, they need to work on getting the patio heaters functional. The price per person is typically between £10 and £20. The service and atmosphere both received a rating of 4.

The bar is fantastic with a live DJ, highly recommend it. I give the service a 5 and the atmosphere a 5 as well.
