I've been in the tavern side a couple of times and had a few drinks and a meal from the bar menu, which was excellent and really good value for money. The restaurant at the rear has a fabulous menu and is a great place to take the family both young and old, as they have a kids play room to the side of the restaurant. It's also a great place to eat during the summer months where you can sit outside on the terrace area.You have to go up to the bar area to order, but the food is brought to your table by the wait staff.
Sold out of Rumps and Ribs at 6.45, so tried the seafood basket. Please, if anybody finds a worse seafood basket, let me know. It was the smallest I have ever seen for $29.95. 2 prawns, 2calamari. 1 scallop, 1 very small piece of fish, all deep fried with 13 chips!???? VERY disappointing, would not go back nor recommend. Beer was nice and cold I will give them that, but with plenty of options in Runaway Bay, try the others nearby!
We decided to try our local tavern after being in the area for a while now. I had the chicken parmigiana and hubby had the beer battered flathead. Good size and cooked well for both meals and served with salad and chips. Only thing I'd say was my chips could've been hotter other than that good food and ok prices. Nice area away from public bar and gambling. Will definitely go again.
Ate inside as outside a bit chilly , staff super smiley and friendly . Ribs were 10/10 , burger was huge and my lunch rump was just that - perfect size for lunch . I like the set up where customers can see the chef cooking . It's a tavern with good affordable pub food . Could do with a bit of a reno inside but no major complaints . Recommend for a casual lunch.

Phoned in advance to ask what time they were open until after a 17 hour flight from London. All good, caught an Uber (needed a chill out drink). Bought a round. 5 minutes before the bar closed we were refused. "You can't skull it in 5 mins". I've never seen anything like that before.
Super friendly and helpful staff with fresh food and good menu. Hubby asked for 3 not 2sausages which was no trouble. Good for weeknight meal or family birthday party. They have a kids room and week night specials - Ribs, oysters etc. great place for groups with kids of any age
We had a good meal at a reasonable price in this rather attractive venue. Although it's only a local bistro in a shopping centre, it's well laid out and the staff are very pleasant. We would go again.
group booking- nice food, good service and good variety. Monster dessert servings. The bistro is located at the rear of the venue and is not overly obvious on entry to the bar area.

Food is great and a great looking place but needs a bit of a spruce up and a better vibe to attract the right clientelle
