This is the kind of place Nassau Blvd is really desperate for. There aren’t a lot of options to sit down and have a nice meal that feels like a community restaurant. Glad to see they expanded. We were there on a Friday night and the service was pretty slow, they were either short staffed or are still inexperienced with renovation and increased sit down business but the service otherwise was good/accommodating and we enjoyed our food. I hope the strip continues to develop like this because there is such a missed opportunity with the university down the road, the community has seemed very resistant to updated and quality food but it seems as though things are changing for the better. Tried it out for the first time with my gf who is gluten free.. before ordering we told the waitress someone was GF they acknowledged it… we ordered the GF grandma pie which was amazing.. we also ordered the GF penne al vodka which came out to not be gluten free hours later my girlfriend was sick a few hours later vomiting/diarrhea non stop. I get people make mistakes but 1. We told the staff 2. We were charged extra $8 for GF pasta which turned out to be regular. 3. Dont go crazy marketing your business that you offer GF options if you make mistakes like this. Most likely will return for the pizza only.. The service and food are incredible!!! They were all attentive and extremely cautious with my families gluten allergies.... We all ate and no one had any stomach issues at all!!!!!! Anyone with a gluten allergy knows all you wanna do is eat and not worry about is this going to make me sick... So thank you Rustic for giving all of us peace of mind and providing excellent service as well as the good!
I absolutely adore this place! We make it a point to visit every time we're in the area. It's incredibly gluten-free friendly! Not only do they serve delicious gluten-free pizza, but they also have gluten-free calamari, which we've never encountered before. My husband was thrilled. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is both casual and intimate. Plus, the Chianti is just perfect!
