Saino Cafe - Reservar una mesa

Based on the recommendation of others we decided to give Saino a try. Located on at the Henley Street traffic lights on Canning Highway near the Canning Bridge, it's one of those places you often drive by and never think of visiting, which is a shame. Being right on the highway, you'll have to park a few minutes away at the car park on Henley Street. Up until recently I've thought this was an Italian restaurant but it's actually a Nepalese/Indian restaurant. The decor is relatively plain, apart from the prayer flags festooning the chandelier (from the restaurant's previous incantation), the numerous paper butterflies and smattering of photos of Nepal. Visited this local Nepalese/ Indian restaurant on the recommendation our parents ( who had a lovely meal last week). We were not disappointed! The food is full of flavour, fresh and generous serves and the staff are warm, welcoming and very helpful with menu advice. We had the chicken Momo for entrée and they were the tastiest momo's we have eaten definite better than the other Nepalese restaurants in the Como area. For mains we had the goat curry and saag paneer with Nepali palou rice and roti. Delicious and more than enough for two hungry people. I totally agree with other reviewers who were surprised by the quality of the food at Saino and lack of customers. We wer there o a Friday evening and once a party of eight left soon after we arrived there was only one other couple. We had a curry,rice and naan, plenty for the two of us and enough left for lunch the next day. The curry was very flavoursome and cooked to your heat requirements. We will be back with friends and hope that more people try this restaurant. Good food, good price - only thing lacking is atmosphere due to lack of customers. Give it a go.

My wife, daughter and I went to this little restaurant last night for the first time. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. We would highly recommend the saag, madras lamb and korma vegetables and don't forget to try their naan breads. It is a little out of the way but worth the trip. We will definitely be back with friends.

This place deserves more customers!!!!! Best Indian/Nepalese I've had in Perth and great price! Location is bad which probably explains the lack of customers but you will pleasantly surprised to find such a cosy and inviting interior with beautiful Nepalese decorations. Go there now!
