Ordered Steak and Shrimp Hibachi. I ordered the steak medium. It came out raw. Sent it back. Came back raw again. I gave up and told them to not charge me for the steak. They took off $4.00. Oh boy! It cost me $16.00 for six shrimp and some rice. If they had any class they would have not charged me at all and given me a gift certificate like class restaurants would have. We moved here from Southern California. Los Angeles County. This is been the only place that we can consistently get decent sushi that we found. Odd that it’s in Andover, but it is consistent and tasty. At the time of writing this review, October 2021, ordering has taken a bit longer than it has in the past. The stuffed and fried jalapeno appetizer was great, the flavors really went well together. We had 2 basic California rolls and one Lion roll. All were executed well and had great flavors. Only downside was the service. No plates came with our appetizer, had to ask for silverware for my wife and we were never offered refills on our drinks.
Not coming back lol better sushi and customer service. They had a little girl about 6 or 7 years old take drink orders, bring out food. Nothing that the little girl could control she was just being told what to do by the mom. She brought out the check after we paid and threw it in the table and sauce got everywhere. 0 out of 10

My husband and I have been getting sushi from Sakana since they opened in Andover (1-2x monthly) and we’ve never had a bad experience with them. The sushi is always great and the staff friendly. We usually grab takeout but when we do dine in service has been quick.
Miso soup and gyoza were good but the sushi was not fresh. I tried one piece and immediately disliked it. I ordered something else and it was fine. When I got the check they still charged me for the roll. Really terrible customer service.
Jalapeno peppers were nice, and so was sushi. Server needed some schooling. No plates, napkins, or cups for sake. Would try other sushi house near by before returning.
I have moved to Riverside, but my dad lives nearby, as well as some friends. Good food, good service. Love that a Japanese family operates it.
