Sakura Japanese Restaurant

We have been coming to Sakura ever since we moved to Newburgh in 2018. It is still our favorite spot, and we always joke that we’ll never move out of town because we wouldn’t be able to live without Sakura. Our friends and family all love it too, and I think it may be half the reason they come visit us! The owners/staff are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. Once, we got stuck in the snow across the road from the restaurant (yes, their sushi really is worth driving in a snow storm for) and they came out with snow shovels to help us get the car out! They are so kind and genuine. They have great lunch and sushi specials, but even their regular prices are very good for how much food you get...

Ordered carryout online for 5 people. We drove there (5 mins), and when we arrived, the woman working the register said our food was being prepared. We waited no more than 10 minutes, and then our food came out and was organized in a large cardboard box. All the food was there. I ordered the chicken fried rice and a DC roll. Both were excellent. Good price, especially considering the portions. My family ordered hibachi chicken, steak, and shrimp dinners and enjoyed them. Nothing to complain about. The woman at the restaurant was really friendly too, and it seemed like a nice environment.

Food is good, but get it at the restaurant itself and not through the website. Convenience fee, plus delivery fee, plus tip, plus the driver tips, plus small order fee, plus this and that will turn a 17$ dollar order into a 35$ or more bill. They even charge a convenience fee for pickup. Used to order from them a lot, not so much anymore. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Totally did not know about this hidden joy in the middle of Newburgh. Thanks SAKURA for the flyer/Menu I found in my mailbox. My first order lacked nothing...baked perfectly, cooked to my perfection, menu ran over and personal service was inspiring. #Iwillback Reserva una mesa ahora

Best sushi restaurant in the country!!!!!! The staff are so amazing. One of the waitresses in particular will memorize your order no matter how much you have! She always gets it right. Every time I walk in, she knows my order! I give them the outmost respect!
