We had a really horrible experience here. First of all, they had maybe 7 open teppanyaki tables and we had to wait up front for 15 minutes, we have 3 kids all under 5, so that was fun keeping them entertained. Food was horrible, my steak was served raw actually purple. It was awkward complaining because the chef is literally standing in front of you. They didn't cook the veggies in the fried rice, so I was crunching on raw onions. Also the soup, oh the soup, tasted like what I'd assume salted toilet water would taste like. We won't go back, the other popular teppanyaki spot is roughly the same price and they don't disappoint. Oh, the chef also slammed his spatula on some hot oil and tiny dro...
I would advise against ordering the Lion King; it doesn't resemble what a dish with that name should be. There was no sign of a mane, and the dish should have included scallops, which were missing. The pieces were uneven and fell apart far too easily. On the positive side, the crunchy California roll was quite good. However, I had to wait about 15-20 minutes to pay after my meal, while the staff seemed puzzled as to why I was just sitting at the bar, looking at them. There were many employees on duty, yet the restaurant wasn't busy. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
We have been coming to Sakura since it opened. We have celebrated many birthdays including mine and my 10 year old boy's bday last week. The food has been always delicious and consistent. The food is fresh and the showmanship is AMAZING!!! All of us adults and kids love the chef's skills and tricks. I totally recommend this place for a entertaining family fun with delicious food. The only negative is the bathroom cleanliness and maintenance. Please put more love an attention to the bathrooms, after all everything counts for a perfect experience.
I used to frequent this location often, but now no more. After the change of ownership, this place has gone downhill. The chefs don't seem to care as much anymore as their food is as bland as their show. The servers just sit around on their phones and to top it all off, the so-called new owner just drinks beer and gets drunk. If that isn't enough, the establishment is cash only but they won't tell you that until after you sit down and get comfortable.

Food was ok, but not particularly memorable. The wait staff and cook were nice. The host (guy in charge of seating people) was the absolute worst extremely rude and just ruined the meal for us before we were even seated. We thankfully did not have to deal with the host after we were seated, but we are definitely not coming back here.
Food quality was poor. Fillet was well done , vs med rare, and fatty/ gristle, chicken over cooked and dry, shrimp appetizers served whole without much taste. Not what it used to be. Show was average no flare, boring. I won’t go back

This is a fantastic spot for high-quality meat and seafood, all perfectly grilled. The staff serve each dish with love and care. I highly recommend the imperial combo—it's simply amazing! Enjoy!

Manager was trying to finesse us with having to pay 25% of tip when it’s should be only 18% if is a party of six or more. Never going back.
Good sushi in downtown Palo Alto. Wished they used real crab and not imitation in their rolls. Otherwise delicious
