I was simply baffled by just how bad the food here was. Between the reviews and Michelin guide sign on the door, I had high expectations for what I would eat here. If you had cut the prices by a factor of 4, I would have called it mediocre convenience store food, as it stands with the current price it was an abomination. The sushi was tasted old and was literally on dry somehow overly salted rice. The age dash I tofu cubes were huge and flavorless in a viscous sauce that reminded me of Panda Express without seasoning. My evening at Sala Tokyo was, regrettably, an immense letdown. For a sumptuous 146 Swiss francs, one would anticipate an unparalleled culinary experience, but instead, I was met with a demonstration of laxity unbefitting its reputation. Observing a chef misting unserved sushi and sashimi, then wrapping and storing them for future service was not just a breach of basic sushi etiquette but a fundamental lapse in ensuring fresh ingredients. While there were other service-related concerns, as a Cordon Bleu chef, my emphasis is on the food, and this experience was distressingly subpar. I tried this restaurant with a friend and can really recommend it to anyone for its great food and good service: if you want to have a taste of Japan, here's your place. We ordered assorted sashimi, unagi and ebi tempura: all was excellent. They have a very good and varied menu, next time I will try sukiyaki which you don't find very often on Zurich! Only two minutes away from the HB central station, it can be easily reached from anyone in Zurich.

Great hospitality, the climate of the restaurant is really impressive. The whole team is doing a really good job for the guests. If you are interested in Japanese food and want to feel like you are in Japan, I recommend this cozy and friendly restaurant in Zurich. Thank you for your hospitality, meal, etc... Thank you for an amazing experience. The food is absolutely delicious. Best Japanese food in Zurich. From the starters (Tempura Squid, grilled shitake mushrooms) to the grilled salmon and ending with the Macha Ice cream with sweet Azuki beans. And to finish the plum wine. Will come back again.

The staff was very friendly and competent. The atmosphere was authentic and I really had the impression of being in Japan. The dishes were amazing and so far it was the best Japanese food I had eaten outside Japan. I really recommend this restaurant!

Japanese tradition in Zurich. Excellent authentic restaurant, the seven course Tokubetsu Kaiseki menu was rich and very tasty. The flavors transported us to Tokyo for a dinner. Attentive and helpful service. Nice environment.

Excellent authentic Japanese food. The fish was as fresh as we rarely get in Zurich. The service was also excellent, well-trained staff. I ate a zukedon, sushi rice with fresh raw fish and avocado. Reserva una mesa ahora
