We have been coming to this restaurant for years and always enjoyed it. It has a lovely atmosphere and very good food, with charming touches like elephant shaped teapots and porcelain menu cards. The tea choices are wonderful, as well as the macarons. However, we have been very disappointed to not be able to make reservations even on fairly good notice. It seems the secret is out and if you wish to enjoy a meal here you MUST make reservations well in advance or not come during a popular time. As we come a fair distance, it has been disappointing to not be able to enjoy a meal here. However, it has forced us to try other wonderful choices in the area too. The little Whitehouse salon cafe in Fort Langley BC is a hidden gem. This is an old house converted to a boutique and a tea house. Not only is this place rich with its local history but it offers a rich variety of food and tea, making it a must visit location for high tea or a Sunday brunch. We were there for a friends birthday party. Lovely petit desserts and lovely collection of savoury dishes. Coffee and tea are exquisite . Specially recommend the earl grey tea cupcakes and buttermilk biscuit benny... Yum!
Very inattentive server. Our group was not impressed. While the place is lovely to look at we stood for quite awhile waiting to be served and then waited a very long time for our order to be taken. Our portions were very small. The little White House shop attached is not what it used to be. Everything is made in China and not quality items they used to have. They should have European imported goods as well as supporting local artisans.
I took my friend for a birthday lunch and we had a great time.The tea room is quaint and well decorated.The food was very good and well presented. I really enjoyed the quiche butch the soup and croissant looked good too. We wanted afternoon tea but it was too pricey at $22 head.We had the dessert selection which is 3 small two bite desserts - very tasty.Service was friendly and timely.
