I was on the fence about ordering the fish tacos or the filet. Our server recommend the filet and I eternally grateful. It was phenomenal. Easily in the top five of the best filets I’ve had. We also had a ahareable item cannot remember the menu item’s name, but it was biscuits with habanero honey butter. They literally melted in our mouths. The loaded mashed potatoes were also delicious. For cocktails I had the cucumber, also a recommendation from my server, and it was refreshing. Did I mention my server? She was phenomenal. I HIGHLY recommend SALT and will return every time I travel to McAllen for business.
Had a reservation on a Friday Night and was seated promptly. Have been here several times and service is always great. Recommend the watermelon cocktails, refreshing and slightly sweet. This time tried the scallops, which was a light dish but full of flavor. Shared the Baked Alaska, which was delightful. Was not a fan of the Prickly Pear drink, and the restaurant was warm. Several guests were fanning themselves. Regardless, would still come back.
This place is fantastic! It offers amazing food, incredible service, and a great atmosphere. It gives you the real feel of high-end dining out-of-town, yet here at home. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion or just to treat yourself to an excellently prepared meal. You won’t regret it.
The food and cocktails were phenomenal! The draft beer lines could be a little cleaner. Dinner was amazing though, and definitely helped make my wife's birthday particularly special.

The drinks and food were all tasty. I suggest sitting at the chef's bar so you can watch them prepare the beautiful dishes and decide what you want to try next time.
I would give the overall experience at SALT a 5-star rating. The food, appetizers, drinks, and environment were all excellent. I highly recommend it!
Love this place. Took my boss this time and he absolutely loved the fried chicken. The Mac and cheese is always a winner.
