This was a great place for Sunday dinner and a nice leisurely walk down the canal path. After visiting Great Budworth we decided to go to the Salt Barge Pub as this pub was dog friendly and had decent reviews. On arriving the staff were...very attentive and good timely table service ensued. Food was the best part of the visit, it was plentiful, varied, well cooked and reasonably priced. All in all, a very enjoyable showcasing what is ‘great’ in Great Britain
Called for lunch after a walk along the canal. Safety processes well observed and lovely attentive staff. The roast beef dinner was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and plentiful. Melt in the mouth Yorkshire pudding, home made roasties and a selection of of roasted vegetables, greens and...cauliflower cheese. Washed down with local Tatton bitter. Absolutely delicious. Best Sunday lunch in a pub I've had. Thank you.
Had THE BEST fish and chips here ive had in absolutely ages....and it was gluten free! Nick the Chef/owner is doing an outstanding job in the kitchen....I've had a Sunday roast and an evening meal this week....both were very reasonably priced and of fantastic quality....please...come and try, you will not be dissapointed!
we came to dinner here on Thursday ordered from the menu, which was limited, but we were washed away by the ham egg chips fabulous and chips that reminded us of our jugend our puddings were glazed pears and a chocolate fond. everyone was equally fabulously great eating, attentive staff will not be better than that. The restaurant has new owners who have done a great job of maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere. The fires are lit, creating a cozy environment, and they offer a good selection of beers and wines. The team is very welcoming and friendly. Definitely worth giving it a try.
today visited for a meal, booked in advance, warm welcoming, heart that served us was really helpful, eating was amazing, all made home, chicken cake was just the best, thank you will definitely come again if we are on this wise, would highly recommend
I went for the Gammon option and it was excellent. teller full and the whole series of cooked vegetables to perfection. an absolute tasty bite. I called last week and had the chicken and hamcake flour. omg was a homemade bake. the best.

I stopped by today for a relaxing drink and was greeted by a delightful and upbeat woman who served me, in my opinion, one of the finest pints of Guinness in Northwich. I will definitely return soon to try more.
