We just stopped for coffee and the black forest cake since it's the specialty of the region. The cake was superb. The coffee was also very good. Actually, all the food we saw looked very fresh and good and would recommend this place for lunch. It's right by the market so there is lots of opportunity for people watching. There was a man strolling and playing music which was very pleasant. They were very busy and the server was slow but I guess he just couldn't keep up. I recommend this restaurant.
This is not only for coffee. While coffee and tea are great, the food and service are top drawer. The French bistro feel and food are well placed in the plaza. We had the turkey panini and the ham panini. They come with a small salad and chips. At a very reasonable price. They have a nice tea selection and delicious cappuccino. Save some room because you will want something from their baked goods selection. Try the delicious Black Forest cake.
Me and my sister were walking around looking for the perfect cafe and we found it! I had a hot choccie with a salted caramel brownie and my sister a pizza, it was so delicious! The service was excellent especially as the waitress spoke good English which made it easier to say what we wanted : Really happy with the service and food, if in Freiburg definitely take a trip to Sams!
There was four of us and we've ordered various sweets and drinks. The sweets are very tasty and the portions quite large. The hot chocolate with orange liquor is simply outstanding, best I've ever had not sure if it was the quality of the liquor or the hot chocolate itself.
