"This is pretty much the best place for Indian/Afghan food in Vorarlberg. Went for dinner here many times. Make sure you book a table and have enough time to enjoy your stay (everything is cooked fresh and the service sometimes can be a bit slow)."

We visited this place based on the reviews, hoping for some good Indian food. Food wasn 't particularly that bad but wasn 't very Indian. Roti was basically big crepe but made with whole wheat flour. It was delicious but it wasn 't roti !! So no other selection to choose from if you wanted any other type of bread for example naan or paratha etc. There was a wide selection for crepes though, which looked good we didn 't try it though. Roti was complimentary (as well as white rice) but you would expect atleast same number of pieces as number of people or dishes ordered however they seemed to be placing one on table irrespective of whether there were 2 people on the table or 8. On the other end...

Based on a three course meal: My experience at Samandar was all right. The food was okay and the portion size is big, it just wasn't what I expected. If you eat there you should go with the expectation that you won't be served indian food, but dishes cooked oriental style with oriental spices. If the way they promote the restaurant (keywords: indian, crêpe, afghan and oriental) doesn't already convince you of an ongoing identity crisis, the decoration and menu will. Everything I ate tasted far from authentic and I am convinced my chicken curry (yellow with lotsa cream) tasted exactly like the ones I used to get in european restaurants. Again: nothing I ate was bad! I just won't be going back...

You can already see that the opinions differ whether it 's real Indian food or not. It 's actually Indian/Afghan food the beef dishes on the menu alone should tip you of that it 's not purely Indian. No matter where the food really is from it 's very tasty and delicious. Been coming here for years now.

Had lunch there. It took 1h 10minutes to get food. Food had absolutely nothing to do with Indian food. It had so much salt that you could not taste anything else. Naan bread was crepe, nothing to do with Naan bread. Just horrible, avoid! Also horribly expensive for the quality
