I gave this place an excellent review for the reason that it would be very easy to just drive on by. I did not see much in the town for eating. I had the steak sandwich special because it included fries making it cheaper than a burger or fish sandwich once fries were included. I see one reviewer gave it a terrible rating because their ice cream was not as good as the time before, but I do not think many places make their own ice cream. The service was very friendly. I sat on the patio on a nice summer day. The coleslaw had some extra ingredients that told me it was made with more than the cheapest stuff. I may stop again if I am not in a hurry driving by on the highway. Oh, the place I used...
This little "town" is just a wide spot in the road and would be hard to miss but DON'T DO IT!! First, the Sammy and the other server were just nice as could be! He was so patient as I made my way through the menu board that took up the whole wall and explained everything. The Donair ( like a gyro) was amazing and large. My husbands Canadian burger had a tasty sauce and Canadian bacon and we tried Poutine for the first time (artery-clogging for sure but very tasty!). Both of them checked on us a couple of times and when he found we were from way down south in the US, Sammy even gave us free ice cream cones! A great experience!
The days of can't-stop-reaching-for-another-piece-of-chicken are back!Remember when fried chicken was addictive crunchy tasty moist goodness?Sammy's food is another reason Entwistle and Evansburg are the best places to live! Or at least to make a stop while driving by on the Yellowhead... Call ahead and pickup for great road-trip chicken to-go!When did we think to make deep fried chicken healthy, anyway:) Enjoy!
We stop here every time we go to Vancouver and have breakfast.there prices are reasonable and portions are large.i would recommend any of the foods on the morning menu.we stopped today for the first time to try their dinner menu.the pasta I ordered was terrible.i was very disappointed and surprised that my meal was so bad.i hope this was just a bad night for the cook. Sammy's vegetarian pizza is one of the best I've ever eaten (I've now had 2 and they were consistently excellent). The crust is thin, the toppings are plentiful and I was thrilled at how well leftovers froze and reheated. I also sampled their onion rings and they were very, very good. Easy stop driving east on the Yellowhead Highway.
Sammy's Diner along hwy. 16 at Entwistle is very tasty and portions are very good! My husband always gets the donair and says it's delicious! I usually just have chicken and fries but they are the best fries around! Have eaten here 4 times now and haven't been disappointed yet! You can eat in the diner or go through the drive thru!
I have been a patron of Sammy's Restaurant for decades!! It's the best place to go for their World Famous Mushroom Burger!! Truckers and Camper's can park on the main road and enjoy an inexpensive excellent breakfast!! My lunch time favorite is of course, the Mushroom Burger! But the Steak and Eggs are awesome too!!
I used to love stopping here for ice cream, it was so creamy, now taste cheap.i also have had pizza here and have to return it twice as the dough was not cooked in the middle (take out) reported it to staff and left number for owners to call. no call returned Reserva una mesa ahora
