good Tandoori food. I decided to try samrat after positive reviews. the fact that it had a Tandoori oven to fill me with anticipation. I enjoyed the Indian decoration, with individual stands. I tried the murghi masala and tarka dhal together with pure rice and a naan. Although tasty, the color of the murghi masala was eating me a little quenched, but the tarka dhal and naan were both excellent. the waiters were very attentive, but almost a little desperate to ensure my return. the television was also quite loud in the background, so I asked her to turn it out what they did for the sake. I look forward to tasting more of their beautiful dishes.

The Rat. There are many purveyors of fine curried food-stuffs in Tooting, indeed there are literally hundreds within London. However, the Samrat is probably the finest of them all. The decor is lush, the staff polite and the bhangra music is soothing. Possibly the finest dishes on the menu are the CTM (Chicken Tikka Masala) and the Chef's Special Butterrr Chicken. All main dishes can be ordered with Long-Grain Potato Rice if standard Pilau Rice is not to your liking. Prices are reasonable considering the high quality of the food Highly recommended. I must assume that the other reviews have been planted for samrat! eating is incredibly mediocre (especially in comparison to nearby restaurants) and the service is terrible. our poppadome were average, with two from a glass chutneys that were much too sweet. the curry was hard and tasteless, and again a lot too sweet. and the service was rude and not helpful. I have been doing too much for years and always had amazing experiences; this was the exception and is not better (and worse) than standard British Indian tariff. really disappointed.

Our restaurant is located on Gorringe Street, just off Mitcham Road. A bold sign welcomes guests into the cozy venue. As we walked past the interestingly decorated stands, we entered a larger area at the back where diners were enjoying their meals. Everything was beautifully presented and our food arrived quickly. The selection of chutneys and starters was a good way to begin our meal. We tried the bhajis, which were crispy and tasty, but a bit dense in the middle. Overall, not bad but could use some improvement.

the advice in tooting there are many lenders of finely cured food, in which there are hundreds in london. but the samrat is probably the best of them all. the decor is lush, the bare and the bhangra music is soothing. may be the best dishes on the menu the ctm (chicken tikka masala) and the chef 's special butterr chicken. all main dishes can be ordered with long-grain potato rice if standard pilau rice is not to their taste. prices are appropriate in consideration of the high quality of food. highly recommended.

I suspect that the other reviews for Samrat may have been fake. The food was very average, especially when compared to other nearby restaurants, and the service was terrible. The poppadoms were okay, but the chutneys were overly sweet. The curry was bland and overly sweet as well. The service was rude and unhelpful, which was a surprise as I had always had great experiences there in the past. My best friend and I have been frequenting this restaurant for years. The food is always delicious and even though we have tried other Indian restaurants over the years, we always find ourselves coming back to Samrat.
