we have eaten several times in andover inn by samuel and always had a good experience. the ambiente, the service and eating were always excellent. the server offered good suggestions, was very attentive and ensured that we were satisfied with our order. food options are limited to someone, compared to much larger restaurants, but still offered a satisfying selection of options. the meals were very delicious. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we had to wait despite having reservations and seeing several available tables. The hostess seemed disorganized with the menus and seated people who arrived after us before us. We had to wait for our table for quite some time before the waitress finally appeared. The coffee and latte we ordered were disappointing as they were only half filled. The food was not worth the price, as portions were small and lacked quality. The lobster eggs benedict had very little lobster, with only a few small pieces garnishing the dish. The cream brulee was the only highlight of the meal. The food is consistently good and the ambience is warm and relaxing. This remains a favorite for us. Service, however, on this night was horrendous. This was an unlike our previous visits.
