I Manage at the Grau du Roi a holiday resort and i don't recommend this restaurant! have had some bad meals but this has to be in one of my top ten's! Friendly service but totally disorganised, everything just took so long and funny thing there was juste 2 tables, we sere not in a hurry but it was bad. when the food came, it was just horrible and, the sauces were all watered down or something like that and all the dishes of the 1st course had that microwave look and taste- we at that point realised that there was something bad about this place. After a good hour and a bottle of wine to pass the time the maincourse arrived... uneatable, how can a restaurant serve such ****, i find it embarras...
My wife and I decided to visit le Grau du Roi whil in Nimes. We were on our way to a mobbed restaurant scene in the city. We passed a little sign which said Asian Restaurant. We read the menu posted and liked it. Boy, am I glad. We both had the 18 euro 3 course formule. My wife chose the nems starter, while I chose the Ha Ko. The steamed shrimp dumplings were the best I’ve ever had. And, I have eaten them i From Hong Kong to New York’s Chinatown. The nems were excellent also. It's in a nice parade of restaurants many of which were closed this time of year. Pleasant looking in the inside and friendly service, the lady spoke good English. They specialise in Vietnamese. The curry tasted a bit like cheap powdered curry sauce but was tasty nonetheless. All the food was well cooked, not mind blowing but pretty good. The friendliness of the service took it from a 3 to a 4 star. Nice to see someone looking to improve the experience by smiling and having some appropriate rapport with customers.
the reception was great, obviously the restaurant was complete when we arrived and we were kindly told that it was best reserved to have a table. After leaving my phone number to the waitress an hour later, we had our table and the waiting was worth it. memories of childhood and a lot of happiness, here's what the really cooking flavors are so surprising and delicious that even after having filled the panse we would have a taste of not enough I highly recommend !
