The food was tasty and the dishes were reasonably priced, most in the $12 to $14 range for a main course providing value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive when I was there on a quiet night. I first visited this restaurant 17 or 18 years ago and then it dropped off my radar. After this visit, I think I'll be back more frequently. The main restaurant area is downstairs, but they do have a couple of function rooms upstairs for parties and private functions. I visited with a group of 13 people on a Monday night when the restaurant was very quiet. We were seated upstairs and the food all looked good. I shared two House special dishes: Anika Chicken and fried calamari in plum sauce...

Have been going to Satay Anika since it opened under Tony's guidance 25 or so years ago. Continued the same great food under matre d' Karen, although recent visits were less great - some food (curries, rendang) had clearly been pre-cooked and frozen, then microwaved. Understand that time were getting tough but this didn't help. I guess the lease was up and the rent became impossible. Very sad to see this true family restaurant (theirs, mine and many others) now closed. I can only hope that Karen and family open up a new restaurant in Thornbury/Preston!

We live just around the corner from Satay Anika and we always enjoy going there. It is not a "special occasion" place but a place for when we arrive home late and can't be bothered to cook! We know we will get a very warm welcome from the staff and a satisfying meal (all for a very reasonable price!) It is also nice to be able to byo a bottle of wine without a huge corkage charge. So many of the restaurants near us now either don't allow byo or charge so much and have very few (if any) reasonably priced wines.

We came with the whole family for my nieces birthday. Satay Anika has always been a favourite. Why not introduce the family to it. They loved it too. We have never had bad service or a bad meal in almost 20 years of eating here. Tony and Grace were the first owners and the only change is ownership the chef has stayed in changed for the whole time, which explains the consistently great food. Keep up the good work guys. I have walked past this restaurant for many years promising i would drop in. When we saw friends already in there we decided to join them and please we did. Family owned with an easy relax feel. The food was very good and we were pleasantly surprised. It is also BYO. Great prices with the total bill coming to $36. 00 for 2 people. This restaurant will be on our regular eating list

Used to go to Satay Anika many years ago, and it was great. Now, it is the opposite. We ordered 4 different dishes, including their "special" Anika Chicken. Dry chicken in very small pieces, swimming in watery sauce. A noodle dish was sloppy and with very little taste other than cornflour. The other 2 dishes, squid and an entree, were no better. We left most of the food.

Love this place! It is a cute little restaurant with very friendly staff. Every dish I have ordered has been delicious (the satay sticks and mee goreng highly recommended!)! The prices are very affordable and it is in a nice location. This is our new go to local restaurant for Asian food!

We visited here in the 1990s and have recently renewed contact. We had gado gado, Satay Anika chicken[sesame and plum sauce], rice and roti for $40 for two with byo wine too. Great taste, good value and attentive service. Authentic food at affordable prices. Reserva una mesa ahora

Satay Anika has been our favourite local restaurant for many years. We last ate there at the start of July and the food was as fab as ever. Favourites were the beef desaru, Satay chicken and garlic Bok choy. So sad tonight to walk past
