This review is long overdue. One day, my client ordered sushi from here, and I can honestly say I eat here almost every day now. I usually order through Uber Eats, and the delivery is always quick, which I really appreciate as a busy hairdresser. The food is consistently excellent. I love the sushi; it’s high quality and reasonably priced. The ramen is also among the best in the area. When I leave special requests, they actually pay attention and prepare it just the way I ask. I would give it a 10/10!
Ahh! The culinary delight that pleases both the eye and the palate. Tucked away on the corner of Delray Ave and Norfolk st. It is my only Japanese place to dine. The service is excellent, the soup and sushi to die for! The pork falls apart with chopsticks. Although it is only carry out the ambiance brings a release of tension as no therapy will. God bless this tiny little part of the Islands of Japan. May their rising sun never set as long as I breathe .
Once in a while, it's nice to find a Japanese restaurant that offers fresh nigiri sushi for $1 per piece. It's only takeaway for now, but they offer it all day long. They are still offering this as of January 2022 for about 20 different selections (see photo of $1 nigiri list), so it's a good variety. But they also have other dishes like sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese dishes, most for under $10 a dish.
You can't beat the prices for the special rolls and nigiri at this restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly, too. As a sushi enthusiast who dines frequently across the East Coast, Satsuma is one of my favorites. I enjoy a diverse selection of fresh fish and authentic grated wasabi here. They also serve belly cuts of sake, hamachi, and toro, which you won't find at many other places.

This is definitely an underrated gem. The sushi is excellent and reasonably priced. What many people don’t know about this place is that the back room features in-table grills, similar to those at Korean barbecue restaurants, but with much higher quality meats. It's probably my go-to Japanese restaurant in Bethesda.
