We love this stop for sweet treats, either on our own or for dessert after eating at one of the different great surroundings. Between all those who are in walking distance from each other and the proximity to the train, and from 95, it is an epic location. While there are no indoor seating places, on fair weather days, there are a few benches and built in features on the open space, and stairs down to the small marina for a view of the suction-atuck bridge and water. While we usually enjoy the sweet shop with our children these days, I have loving memories of a few stop-ins back when we were pregnant. They offer free ice cream to expect mothers... so I don't want to sleep on a little Mandel...
Terrible service. It seems like COVID has made some people unreasonable. I asked the cashier if I could sample an ice cream flavor, and she refused, saying that customers aren’t allowed to take their masks off in the store. I then inquired if I could try it outside, and she still said no. I'm not sure what her goal was, but she seemed to take pleasure in making customers feel unwelcome. I've visited this place before with my cousin, who doesn’t speak English. He forgot to put on his mask when we entered, and that same rude cashier shouted at him to put it on. He didn’t understand what was happening, so I was in the middle of translating when she started yelling even louder. The ice cream is...
Best ice cream in Fairfield County. Family of 5, so I think we've tasted every single flavor at some point or other, and they're all simply amazing. Had Nutella Chip and Sea Salt Oreo tonight, and of course a selection from the candy jars. One of my kids chose sour Swedish Fish, which all three agreed they had never seen before. There are lots of other yummies there, and sitting in the plaza, watching the river just madness for a delightful evening trip out as a family.
We believe this is the best ice cream shop around! Seriously! Our favorite flavor is the mud pie—it's absolutely amazing! The ice cream is incredibly delicious, and the owners and staff are super friendly, creating a wonderful atmosphere. They also have a great selection of candies and special gift assortments for birthdays. If I could give them 6 stars, I would—no, make it 10 or even 20! You absolutely have to try it!

Two scoops were definitely more than enough; I didn't have any room left for toppings! The ice cream was creamy and delicious. The soft serve was unavailable for the season, which was a bit disappointing, but it gave us the opportunity to try other flavors. There were many options to choose from, and plenty of outside seating available.
The ice cream here is delicious, and there are so many candy options to choose from! The interior is also really charming. It's located in a convenient spot, and they take hygiene seriously, which makes me feel safe during these times.
Ice cream, no matter what flavor has absolutely no taste and has that warm feeling when cold sensation. Just the most bland ice cream I 've ever had. Service is ABYSMAL good candy selection although some of its stale.
Saugatuck Sweets offers a sweet and nostalgic menu, but unfortunately, the customer service is some of the worst I’ve ever experienced at a candy shop. The woman working there really detracted from the overall visit.
