Savona's Trattoria Poughkeepsie

I’ve been to Savona several times every time I’ve gotten the same dish which I love angel hair pasta carbonara. Last night we went the waitress says oh you can’t get angel hair pasta. I said why not. She said we only make angel hair pasta when it’s a special. I said, but every time I come here I get it. I’ve been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks since I made the reservations. She made no effort to go in the back and see if the cook could make it for me maybe the cook could accommodate me in. so I was forced to pick something else I was not crazy about it and I didn’t think it tasted so great the chicken Frances. The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the outdoor seating area is lovely. However, we've faced a frustrating issue three times when trying to order takeout (not just on holidays). We've been turned away with the explanation that there is no takeout available that night. It seems that takeout is rarely offered unless it's during off-peak hours when the restaurant isn't busy at all. This has been particularly disappointing for us, as we have young children who struggle to sit still in a nice restaurant, but we still want to enjoy the great food. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. Food: 5, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 5.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We live one mile away and go there often ..occasionally get takeout as we did this week. I have to say the portion of eggplant rollatini was so small!! It almost looked as though they never finished putting it in the container.! This is a consistent finding on their takeout . When I dine in person I never find this . The food here is top notch and the outside area is wonderful. But, on three occasions we have called to do take out (not always on a holiday) and have been turned away saying no take out tonight. There’s basically no takeout ever unless it’s “off peak” hours and they aren’t busy at all. Super disappointing especially when we have super young children who have difficulty sitting still in a nice restaurant, and we still want to enjoy the food. Won’t be back again. Place is beautiful: service was ok, Food was bland. My husband and I ordered the shrimp scampi and the stacked eggplant. Disappointed, we were expecting more herbs, more flavor and Fresh pasta. The scampi pasta was over cooked and sauce was watery! The eggplant was bland. So disappointing! We stayed to give the dessert a chance. We order the tiramisu; it was bitter and foamy. The cannolis were sour in the middle. 0

I had shrimp scampi which I admit it was good. Not too much garlic and shrimp were large They are limited in choice of pasta, no angel pasta, no ravioli. Bread sticks were tasteless. I always feel spoiled here! Apps are awesome, menu rotates with the seasons and live music at times is entertaining but not overwhelming. I only dine inside since sitting in the sidewalk next to parked cars isn't my thing, but it allows for more space if it's your thing. Lovely time. The gluten-free pizza was excellent! My takeout order was handled perfectly—quick and hassle-free. I will definitely be back!
