Don’t let the humble appearance of this village restaurant fool you – it is simply top-notch. The service is highly attentive, and the waitresses are happy to explain the menu featuring plenty of local specialties, and even offer suggestions for the undecided.The food was delicious. We had the tarte flambée with Munster cheese, the sorcerer’s plate, which was an omelette with gizzards (it’s really a lot more delicious than it sounds) and the fleischscnacka, which is rolled-up pasta with pot-au-feu meat stuffing, sort of an Alsatian version of a ravioli if you will. We were staying in a gîte in the area and figured this looked like an 'authentic' enough restaurant to try, confirmed by all the rave reviews we'd seen.The house is charming, the deco truly unique, the welcome unbelievably warm (what a change from the Paris region!), the service attentive, and the menu with plenty of options. The plat du jour was a tarte flambée for entrée, potatoes and boudin for the plat (with salad), and a buche de noël for dessert. All that for less than 9 euros!!! We were there for lunch sunday. We did not take the complete menu and ate only lamb shanks without appaetizersand desert. We were completly satisfied and could not eat more for dinner . The wine and beer were also delicious
