Great, vibrant place, full of energy which comes from passion for good austrian cuisine prepared by young people who know what's best for foodies, which I am as well. It was my number one when I came to Vienna and I don't regret it, it was the best meal I had during my trip. It was indeed served rather uniquely but it's really great if you want to take out the food. I love that the menu is changed weekly, thanks to that there are less options, so it's easier to pick one ; I highly recommend this small, climatic restaurant and as for me I will definitely come back here for more! :

Definitely worth a visit. One of the best meals on my trip ... served in a small place with a great vibe on a side street only a block or two from all the action. Gentleman behind the counter was super friendly, helpful (they speak English and have an English menu) and recommended the roast pork, which was absolutely amazing. Packaged in a box to eat in or carry out. The hopped Cider beer matched up with my food perfectly. I agree with everyone else. If you don't seek this place out, you are missing a great meal.

I loved the concept and the food! As a vegetarian, I gave up on trying to find Austrian cuisine other than the standard dishes on the menu of almost any other restaurant with local food. So I highly recommend to come here if you are a group of non-vegetarians and vegetarians... and very week there is a new creative menu. P.S.: The “Topfenschmarrn mit Birnenröster“ as dessert was absolutely amazing!

We had to take a detour to find this little restaurant but it was well worth the trip. I had the box with roasted pork, dumplings, and sauerkraut. It was delicious! My wife had the spinach strudel box and it was excellent also. The staff is very friendly and able to help English speakers. It is a tasty Vienna treat! Reserva una mesa ahora

Wir waren vorige Woche zum ersten Mal beim Schachtelwirt auf eine Rote Rüben Tarte und einen Schweinsbraten. Beides sehr gut geschmeckt und die Portionen sind auf jedenfall ausreichend. Freundliches Team, freundliches Lokal, auf jeden Fall zum Weiterempfehlen!

I wish i would have found it earlier. I was amazed abt the project and serving skill they offer. I had an absolute tasty awesome OnionSoup with Croutons. Any other dish is even high recommend too. Great quality and incredible kind staff

The Schweinsbraten (roast pork) is crazy good. One of the best things I've eaten in Vienna. The place is very chill, away from the crowds of tourists, and the owner/chef/host is super friendly. Can't recommend it enough.

Simple food done to perfection. This has to be at the top of the list of young guys taking traditional food and reinventing it in their own style. Amazing, thank you so much.

Amazing pork, dumpling and sauerkraut washed down with beer. Really good for a quick pit top to refuel. Service excellent too, would highly recommend.
