It's probably one of the best-known Dresdner addresses. Located below the Blue Miracle for strangers and non-dresdner, a beautiful blue-tone bridge over the Elbe is the river, which is also in Hamburg with magnificent views of the Elbe slopes, the cruise and the Elbe cycle path. Schillergarten is a little deep stacked. Myself and a party of friends visited this restaurant in the last weekend before Christmas. It is very popular with visitors and locals alike so I'd recommend you book if you have a party as big as ours. Everyone ordered starters and my friend...recommend a dish which was hot pieces of chicken in a small dish topped with grilled cheese. Rather strange for a starter and probably a little too heavy for me. I fancied a nice steak for mains but my Friend insisted I try the local delicacy which was pork with red cabbage and dumplings. I have been a regular guest of this restaurant and beer garden over years. After living abroad for years, I came back recently and experienced good quality food in the beer garden. Tonight, we were guests in the restaurant and it was a...disappointing evening. It started with a waiter lacking motivation and compassion; it took long time to order drinks, no polite interaction with us throughout the evening. Both of us had dishes from the day's special menu, one was okay. The other (Pastaspitzen) tasted like it had been deep frozen and burnt in the pan, the pasta's filling was lacking salt and the dressing was overdone with marjoram( Most of the times, I have had dishes from their regular menu...

This is in Blasewitz, up the river from the center of Dresden, and one of the stops for the steam boats that go up and down the Elbe here. It's been in operation since so come here for traditional dishes (in huge portions), and...some wild ones, like wild mushrooms with a tasty dumpling ball in the middle of them. Chops and meats of all kinds, sauerkraut of course, and traditional tortes for dessert. The menu is huge, as is the restaurant--which is nearly overlooking the river. Beautiful setting right in front of the famous „Blaues Wunder“ Bridge. Just miles outside of the city. Very historic as the whole area is. Food options were plentiful, meat products are from their own butcher shop and from farmers in the area. They also...have vegetarian dishes. Wine, spirits and especially the beer „Feldschlösschen“ all perfectly presented. The service is very knowledgeable and courteous. All in all we had a perfect late lunch, and would recommend this beautiful place to everyone at any time!!!!

We visited the Schillergarden with our Australien friends, the young girl serving us was very helpful as my friend has to eat gluten free. Micaela , who comes from Slovakia, spoke good english and was very helpful and even helped get us a table inside,...as it became to chilly to sit outside, she passed us over to the indoor waitress, knowing she would miss out on her tip. Thank you for looking after us so well.

We ate at the Schillergarten twice during a recent trip to Germany for the Christmas markets. Menu was great (regular menu translated into English, but be sure to ask also for the daily specials--your wait person should be able to explain them to you We...were very pleased with our dinners and service both nights we were there. Highly recommend.

The restaurant has a nice view and very good beer, but the food is very simpel and without any charm or stile. But the plates are big.

Went there with family, small and large. Nice atmosphere, good drinks, but only OK food. Turning touristic, maybe? Busy staff.
