The employee responded in an unbelievably rude manner and made a big deal about not being able to provide samples. This unnecessary and disrespectful reaction left me feeling shocked and humiliated. But after I left I started eating the cookie and was not able to sustain my ongoing frustration.Thank you for making this grump less annoying if only for the length of eating a cookie. In this economy and political climate, eat a cookie.
My family loves to stop at Schlegl for a sweet treat, especially to get donuts, cookies and miniature pastries. Our favorite is the dobosh cake. This is a perfectly made cake, with the perfect layered portions of chocolate butter cream and sponge cake. The staff was always very pleasant. The bakery is a single store that is bright, clean and very organized.
Best Tiramisu Cake! We visited this bakery for the first time and were really impressed. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is excellent, and the quality of the cake was outstanding! We were wondering if you offer smaller round sizes, like 8 or 10 inches, for the Tiramisu. That would be fantastic!

I’ve been going out with a friend for the past two days, and even though they wanted to leave early, I managed to try almost everything on the menu. Everything was fantastic! The food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
These kind of family run bakeries are disappearing. No scrimping here on quality. Great staff. So much to like. I am a fan of their sweet rolls. They are substantial and the taste takes me back to my childhood.
These are the best butter cookies I've ever had! I recognized this place right away from my visits in the '70s when I used to come to Schroeder's.
This used to be our place for real German pretzels. But now, the pretzels are nearly salt-free and have been raised in price significantly.
