I love this brewery, I am here several times, and I think that schlenkerla is one of the best beers of the world. However... we sat in the small farm (beer garden) and ordered some beers. This restaurant was high regarded on TripAdvisor. And indeed it was very crowded. The smoked beer was strange tasting at best. Me and my colleagues did not like it and the 6 local guys that we shared our table with had the same opinion ...it was not good. Food was average, nothing special, reasonably priced. Service was below average due to very long waiting time. After asking for a bill and waiting for 20 minutes, we had to go to find a waiter overselves. And there was a big unpleasant surprise for us cash payment only. My colleagues had no cash on him and it was a frustrating experience for him. when we were told in bamberg for the city tour about this pub with smoked beer. a friend I met on the river cruise came to me and it was certainly different.
