The 28-hectare Kaisergarten at Schloss Oberhausen is great. I was there for the first time today and I have to say I am delighted. There is the largest free animal park in the Ruhr area. The entire Kaisergarten Park is beautifully landscaped. With small lakes, large meadows, many trees, playgrounds, a herbal garden, an animal park, as well as a sales pavilion, the animal park is a guarantee for a great cost-effective day trip. In good weather, the park attracts many families, couples, friends, pensioners, walkers, joggers and dog owners to the park. No wonder, because this vast park is really something for young and old. Around 500 animals are kept and bred in 25 mammalian species and breeds and 45 bird species and breeds. In addition to rare domestic wildlife such as Northern Luchs, Wolf or Capricorn, visitors will be presented with a variety of domestic animals. In addition, the wild ancestor of these pets can be observed in generous, beautifully landscaped enclosures. (see picture gallery of my uploaded pictures Opening hours: January December 9:00 17:00 (in summer 9.00 19:00 Today: 13.02.2011, the animal garden was open longer than 17:00. At about 40 seats and tables, which are covered, you can really picnic. For the fact that the animal park is public, it is more than plucked and although the zoo was very well visited I did not see a paper lying on the floor. So for hygiene the zoo gets a 1 from me in any case. Especially great was that the animals were very suspicious, so that you could caress and feed a lot of animals (but only with wild food or carrots. So, if you prefer to go there with small children, you should take a few carrots in a quiet place, the animals can easily be attracted better: . Parking is also available so that you can go over the A42 as it is near the park. However, when returning from the animal park to the A42, there is a lightning set!! In this way, however, such a favourable family excursion can end up expensive. Today's visit was my first one, but he will certainly not be the last. Source: [here link] 13.02.2011

On the lively Konrad-Adenauer-Allee, the Kaisergarten in Oberhausen offers relaxation and entertainment for many different groups. Art and culture enthusiasts know the Schloss Oberhausen with Ludwig-Galerie, Memorial Hall of the city of Oberhausen and excellent gastronomy. Individual sculptures are stored in the Kaisergarten, and the huge walk-in sculpture 'Slinky Springs to Fame', a bridge illuminated in the dusk, leaves many visitors stagnating. For families with children there are different playgrounds and even a small carousel is furnished. Some things against the little hunger offer a snack bar, and in no case can the ice cream cart be forgotten. For athletes there is the possibility to play street hockey or act in the halfpipe. And to jogging is really enough space and there is also the mini golf course and the space for archery. Nature lovers should definitely visit the animal enclosure. For them the entire plant is interesting anyway, because besides old trees there are also carefully planted beds with comprehensible information boards. Especially beautiful are the location on the Rhine-Herne Canal with its shipping traffic and the fact that the garden can present two old arms of the Emscher. Parking and toilets are also available, the visit to the Kaisergarten and the Tiergeheges is free. Unfortunately, I can't say anything at the prices for the other attractions. A visit is definitely worth no matter what season you are in Oberhausen.

The Kaisergarten in Oberhausen is the local recreation area of the city. Giant, located on the Rhine, there is so much to discover in this park. You can start this discovery of several ends of parking lots there. The garden has beautiful, old trees, hiking trails and repeatedly experimental art in between. At the lake in the middle, pretty deck chairs are usually built, but also normal parking benches. In the middle of the lake is a beautiful fountain here you can relax. If you go further and resist the ice seller in the summer, it smells like wild animals here you can also round it up to an inner animal park and see it from outside children want to close and that is good, but unlike the garden itself, entrance. Good for the animals: Also child-friendly is the nearby water playground. For art lovers, maybe the castle. The next station is the Rhine. You can sit on the shore and watch ships or leave the garden here and cross the river over the rocky colorful art bridge. And swing up! That makes sense. I'll take pictures next time.
