Even though a part of our family lives in nearby Lenzburg, this was our very first time to visit the historic Habsburg castle, ancestral place of the famous Austrian Habsburg clan. There is not that much to see in the castle itself, but you can climb up to the top of the tower. Quite a few of the rooms are set up as part of the restaurant and it would be nice to experience a meal here. This time we just came for coffee and dessert. There is quite an enchanting outdoors setting with tables on gravel under the Linden trees with view into the valley, hills and a slice of the Aare river. The Habsburg castle has a very old history. It was the main castle of the Habsburg dinasty. You can learn about this history in the castle. There is also an excellent restaurant here where you get really great meals in a wonderfull atmosphare. We visited this restaurant different times and never were disapointed with the meals. I would warmly recommend this castle and the restaurant. pore
One of the most beautiful places in the most underestimated canton of Switzerland. Every tourist visiting Switzerland should have lunch or dinner in this historic castle. Outside under beautiful old trees, inside in wonderfully renovated rooms. Food decent with a good range of local wines.
