On Monday we had lunch at the Schützenhaus restaurant in Stäfa. It is a small, cute, historic house located directly on the lake and is run by the fourth generation as a traditional restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home in the cozy restaurant. Whenever we dine near the lake, we always choose local fish. So my wife ordered the fist fish and I ordered the perch fillets meunière. We were both given a 'small ' mixed salad beforehand. We had a great lunch here, in this very well-kept house and the lovingly decorated restaurant, with very tasty food and great service. The portions were very generous. The Schützenhaus restaurant is located slightly above Biel, not far from the Tissot Arena. Four of us were there for a fondue dinner before a hockey match. It is advisable to make a reservation on such evenings, as we were not the only match visitors. The moité-moitié fondue was excellent and just as you would expect: creamy in consistency, hot and prepared with very good Vacherin Fribourgeois and Gruyère. The portions are generous. The staff is very friendly and prompt; This is important, especially if you want to be there on time for the hockey match. The atmosphere is rather simple, but very cozy. Conclusion: Highly recommended.
