Schwellenmätteli Restaurants

Nice brunch restaurant in a unique location directly on the Aare. It's particularly nice to visit in summer because you can sit on the terrace. Classic brunch with a large selection of bread specialties, cheese, meat and fruits. The highlight is certainly the whole salmon, which is offered at the buffet. The desserts are practically presented in glasses, which makes the buffet very clean (no independent scooping and spilling). After brunch, the Aare invites you to take a digestive walk. No matter whether you're heading towards Dählhölzli, Marzili or Bärengraben: the Wechselmätteli is the perfect starting point to enjoy the rest of your Sunday in Bern.

Service was ok all over the place as new waiters started their shift and morning shift finished. Ordered the moules as a starter and when you came to the « sauce » it was SO Salty and the last of the mussels was the same. Friend have...the main if Moules and even we Informed the waiter of it she could not be bothered. Was there in May 2022 and the food and service was great. Thé moule was perfect and so the sauce. Just sad that they when you inform them about something they do not try to fix the next one. Or even send a manager over.

We visited the fondue hut. Since I had already had fondue the day before, I ordered a Nüssli salad as a starter and the pumpkin soup as the main course. Everyone else who was there ordered fondue. The salad was ok but not great. The soup was kindly served at the same time as the fondue. The soup was very bland and extremely runny. Seasoning with salt and pepper didn't help much. The coffee was lukewarm. Conclusion: Expensive prices, food OK but not recommended, ambience TOP. Reserva una mesa ahora

we celebrated our high-time festival in the ristorante casa with 90 guests and were totally enthusiastic. the food was uncomplicated and yet incredibly tasty (a mix of Italian specialties: lasagne, risotto, spiesse vom grill, antipasti, dessert buffet), the personal very efficient and friendly and the organization perfect. all have been very flexible about our wishes. for a romantic dinner I recommend a simple dish pasta, which has always been successful.

Si quieres rendir un homenaje, este es tu lugar para comer excepcionalmente en Berna. Este restaurante está situado a orillas del río Aar y ofrece vistas incomparables de la ciudad. Pero, además, su comida es exquisita, al igual que el tratamiento de los camareros. Pudimos probar un buffet libre de ensaladas y un verdadero pez espada de escándalo. No es barato, pero es uno de esos lugares que vale la pena descubrir si puedes pagarlo. Muy recomendable.

We went there on a Saturday evening, the place was busy so we had already reserved in advance. It is a nice location and when the weather is nice hence you could really enjoy the atmosphere there. The place is divided into Lounge and dinning...area, both of them are well organized. We liked the food and drink as well, service was also friendly, recommended!

Beautifully situated next to/on top of the Aare. Stylishly decorated, nice vibe. Lots of reviews mention slow service: must say it isn’t fast, then again: I was not in a hurry and enjoyed their lovely rosé, the sound of the water and the good company. Food was good, not amazing but good. The atmosphere is great as you’re right on the river. Price is definitely on the higher side but that’s usually the case in Switzerland. I’d recommend checking it out, for the vibe alone it’s awesome.
