I bought 3 quarts of lobster stock and a lemon on NYE for lobster risotto. On New Years Day and I notice I was charged $89.47 instead of the $8.97 I was told the lobster stock costed. I realized I needed the lemon after he said $8.97 and figured the total bill would be $10. On 1/2 I felt sick and tested positive for Covid and I wasn 't able to address the issue with them in person until 1/9. When I asked for help the ownership essentially chuckled/laughed at me that there is no possible way to figure this out and I would have to be able to prove this is the case . Avoid this place at all costs! Shopping here feels like a gamble. I called ahead to confirm if they had mussels in stock, and they assured me they did. However, when I arrived, I found that many of the mussels on display were open, which is a red flag as consuming open mussels can lead to severe illness. The clerk mentioned they had more mussels in the back and promised not to include those in my purchase. Trusting her assurance, I continued my shopping. When I got home, I had to discard the entire bag because over half of the mussels were open, and the whole bag was slimy. I had a terrible experience with food poisoning from this place back in 2018. I lost about 10 pounds within just two days of being ill and couldn't walk for nearly a week. The only thing I ordered was a call-in order of fried shrimp and fries. I will never return.
As someone who has worked in a seafood department before, I can tell you that no seafood store should smell like this place does. The seafood on display looked old, the tank is dirty. I wouldn’t eat anything from this place.
