We attended a family wake at this venue, having been out of area we relied on sat nav to find it's location, even a basic nav dropped on the car park, where there was ample space. Once inside, it was very welcoming and decor, flooring to a very high standard indeed, quite upmarket infact. There were many options for drinks, real ales, ciders etc, as the location is remote there were also several zero alcohol products for the driver (ME). We had food layed on which was all home made, the quicé was amazing, each individually made (Compliments to the 5* chef, of course). The toilets were spotless and well presented too. If we are ever in Hereford again, we will surly make a b line for the Secre...
We visited with our granddaughter for a lunch. The wait for food was long, they don’t seem able to cope with more than 3 table orders at a time, we waited 45 mins to order but to be fair the food arrived within 10-15 mins. We thought the food was very over priced for the portion size on certain dishes. The kids meals weren’t very inventive, the usual choice, not very inspiring. The play area is very basic, lacks investment. Would possibly attract more families if there was more to occupy the children. Probably won’t visit for food again.
Met up for an afternoon tea. Was given the option of vegetarian and dairy free. The sandwiches were bland and unappetising. No dairy free option given for the scones so I was unable to eat mine, despite being informed weeks ago about dairy free. On speaking to management they apologised but I wasn't happy. Glad to get home and get some food. Very disappointed with this. The staff were lovely and maybe the cooked food is better. Hopefully they will impove on this in the future.
The food is good but too expensive for the portion sizes. The vegetable dish had only one slice of beef and the dessert was disappointing. The staff are friendly, but there is a strong sewage smell around the eating area, which was not enjoyable while eating. It would have been better to be informed and given the option to eat inside. Unfortunately, we were told there was nothing that could be done about it. It's a shame because the restaurant has been good in the past.

Disgusting cold chicken burgers with under cooked chips, chicken curry 3 pieces of chicken in slop! Plain beef burger cold in middle and the chips barely warm. Offered new chicken burgers that arrived so long after others had finished but minus chips. Poor guy on service appeared embarrassed by the vile cold greasy food. First pub I’ve seen Sauvignon Blanc carbonated in a can! Guess there’s a reason why is was over half empty. Avoid at all costs.
My family and I went to this restaurant for lunch to celebrate a birthday. We were seated and ordered our drinks, only to be informed that they were out of pizza and fish, leaving half of the menu unavailable. After waiting for 40 minutes and not having our food order taken, we noticed that there was only one server for the entire restaurant who seemed overwhelmed. Sadly, we couldn't wait any longer and decided to leave.
Booked a table for a party of 8 to turn up and be told there was no booking under my name. However a lovely lady behind the bar did make room for us. Unfortunately we did not stay as the menu was very poor. Also when ordering drinks to be told sorry we don’t have that, sorry we don’t have that. Very poor and unorganized. Would not recommend.
Really warm welcome and pleasant experience. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and professional. Food reasonably priced with special offers for themed nights.

The service at this restaurant was fantastic, the staff was excellent, and the drinks were top-notch. I visited over the weekend and will definitely be coming back!
Service fine, but meal very poor small portions uncooked vegetables roast potatoes overdone. Very disappointed.
