Settlement Co - Reserva de mesa

I went to Settlement Co. at around 5pm on December 18th and 3 words I have to describe the place are welcoming, unique and options. The pros: The decor/environment of the place is incredibly peaceful and energetic with the mix of wood and nature elements A lot of both classic and unique seating with benches and tables Lovely drink presentation with loose leaf tea coming in a french press and timer for when the tea will be ready and coffee coming in glass mugs Plenty of outlets everywhere, clearly encourage people to come and do work here The ONLY con of the place is just that I found it to be a bit expensive as I paid $4 for loose leaf tea that wasn't advertised as fair trade or anything but...

Settlement is one of my favorite coffee shops in KW, or rather, one of two that I hold in high regard. In Waterloo, the seating can be a challenge, as the main area is usually quite packed. However, there’s a cozy little nook in the back with several more tables suitable for small groups—such a nice find! Settlement earns my vote for the best tea service: they offer a great selection of loose leaf teas served in a press, complete with a timer to let you know when it's time to pour. You can even add your own milk to taste. It’s tea done right, unlike what you find at most chain coffee shops. I haven't tried everything on the menu, so my review doesn't cover the entire range of offerings at this coffee shop. It's a cool, hipster spot that's great for studying, especially for students from Laurier and UW. They serve one of the best London Fog teas I've ever had. However, the veggie bagel sandwich was a bit underwhelming. The ambiance is very relaxed, with warm lighting, plenty of charging outlets, and a variety of spacious tables for laptops and tablets. There are also pillows in the back for added comfort. The staff is incredibly friendly and quick with service. Overall, it’s a great coffee shop!

I had an outstanding experience at this coffee shop! The coffee was exceptional, the staff were wonderful, and the ambiance was fantastic. I especially enjoyed their cortado, which the barista prepared perfectly. The balance of milk, foam, and espresso was just right, and I believe that a well-made cortado is a true sign of a quality coffee shop. I also purchased some of their holiday coffee beans as a gift. I had the V60 pour over. Good service and nice atmosphere. I especially like how many of their drinks (including the tea) are served with a mug and carafe. But at over $5 for the pour over I was hoping to be wanting to buy a bag of their coffee afterwards.

Lovely place for a great cappuccino. Great service. Not quite enough seating so have had to leave a couple of times after meeting friends there because there wasn't enough room to sit.

Always a pleasure walking through the door! Incredibly friendly and fast service. Hands down the greatest Americanos and sandwiches you'll find in the city!
