Shalimar Indian Cuisine

We came for dinner on a Tuesday night. As there were only two of us (and one not a huge eater) we decided to get a curry plate each- keep it simple. This contained chicken tikka, butter chicken, beef korma and a vegetable curry with rice and naan. We asked to swap the naan for garlic (no problems) and we added a raita to the order. The serves are generous. The chicken tikka was a little dry and overcooked. The butter chicken very orange. The curries did''t differ considerably in flavour and were a bit on the sweet side and extremely mild. This was true of the raita as well. We called in here off chance for a meal after a meeting. It was mid week and we found that the restaurant was fairly quiet with only a couple of other tables.We've had some pretty ordinary Indian meals recently but this one DID NOT disappoint. I had the Butter Chicken which was delicious and my partner had a selection which he loved. The Garlic Naan was lovely as well.We had an Entertainment Guide Voucher and the meal cost us very little as a result.The man at front of house was very friendly and helpful It was one of the best Indian meals I have had in Adelaide.

4 th visit to this great little hidden gem. The food was amazing. Very generous serves. We all took home our doggy bags. Great service BYO NO Corkage. Very very reasonably priced. As part of a group of 11 all our choices on the menu were beautiful. I Highly recommend this small restaurant. Has a lot of character. Lovely owners.

The food here is amazing and the serving sizes are very generous. The restaurant has a cute, rustic set up so it is a nice place to eat in and the staff are generally lovely too. Unfortunately the meals are a bit pricey and can make for an expensive dinner out. Definitely worth a visit though! Reserva una mesa ahora

Local to us and now a fave. Food is plentiful and great quality, taste, price. Comfortable surroundings and the most wonderfully friendly front of house! Highly recommended for dine in, especially with free bottled wine corkage and $2 per beer. See you there soon!

Delicious food and a great variety of indian meals, each plate is quite generous and genuine. Very good service, the only downside is the restaurant itself, a little too small. But a good price/quality ratio

The restaurant is OK but as a take away there are many interruptions. The service was a bit ordinary and the décor was trying a bit too hard to be Australian. Food was satisfactory.

Came here on a whim and was not disappointed. The food was beautiful, seems naan to die for. Prawn Malabar was delicious. Give it a go you and be disappointed Reserva una mesa ahora

This is an exceptional (mainly take away) IndianWe have been buying here for over 5 years and have never had a less then excellent dish.

Straight down-the-line Indian, very tasty and filling. There is a good range of dishes for vegetarians.
