So disappointed with a recent visit here. This should be such a destination restaurant in Cardigan an Indian restaurant, in a boat on the river. It was a beautiful evening and watched the river rise through the evening stunning. However, from the moment you walk up from outside you realise the place is completely run down. The carpets falling apart, a strange musty/damp smell, the ceilings plaster is rotting, the toilets downstairs are disgusting, the chairs rickety and the decor v.dated. That coupled with the most hap hazard service I’ve experienced for years (30m wait for drinks, wrong/missing ones brought out), having to ask to order mains felt like our table was forgotten and then 1hr+ w...
The nan breads were excellent. the service was good, the location interesting, the boat could do with a bit of maintenance and the carpet could do with a hoover it was covered in rice and poppadom bits. We were really disappointed with the food, it wasnt as good as previous visits. and expensive £100 for four of us no starter just poppadoms and dips, 3 drinks and no desserts. All our dishes tasted the same and were too sweet full of sugar and no flavour. They all tasted like different coloured korma. This restaurant serves excellent Indian food on a boat, located a bit off the beaten path at the end of a car park by the river. Despite its slightly secluded location, the dishes we tried were delicious and bursting with flavor. It is definitely one of the best Indian meals we have had in a while. The staff were also very friendly. While the boat could use some maintenance in parts, such as a leak in the ceiling/roof, it is overall a great dining spot. I can only imagine the views must be spectacular during daylight hours.
The food and service at this restaurant were amazing - the best Indian food I have had in a long time. They went above and beyond to make me a cucumber raita, even though it was not on the menu. They also offer alcohol. The restaurant is located on an old boat, providing great views and a pleasant atmosphere. In short, just go and experience it for yourself.

My family and I dined at this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, with a friendly and accommodating waiter. The food was delicious, and all eight of us at the table thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We were especially impressed by the chef's culinary skills, as it was the best Indian food I've had in a long time.
Last night we had an amazing meal at this very unusual Indian restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was very friendly and very good and the food was excellent. A little bit tucked away from the main part of town but well worth a visit if you are in Cardigan. We will certainly go back next time we visit !
Visited many times the food is always good plenty of it. I usually have a doggy bag to take away what I can't eat! Service is good. It is on a boat moored up at the riverside while the decor is a bit tired, the views are gorgeous. Prices are good too.
After waiting an hour and 20 mins for the food which still hadn't arrived, I left amd they charged my mates, absolutely terrible service. The place is literally falling apart and dirty

shampan is an excellent Indian restaurant: friendly staff, good eating and quirky. Although the prices are higher than usual, they pay for quantity and quality.
Had food here over the years been the best place for food and it's the best for your money and it's got a lovely spot to sit down and look over the river
