Fairly good menu selection but we chose the $10 lunch meal. 200g rump steak - ordered medium but it was overcooked and tough. Chips were delicious and salad was nice. Very salty with the gravy - which sadly is just gravox mix. I ordered the fish, chips and salad. Fish is just a pre-frozen pre-packaged coles variety piece of fish. Service was very slow but mostly to a new girl being on the register. No atmosphere at all. Took a while to be seated as there seemed to be only one waitress with the bar staff coming out to help clear the tables and it was not a very busy lunch day. Overall, if you just wanted to go and have a cheap lunch and not expect too much, this would be the place to go.
We haven't come here much, after living in Ormeau for 6 years but the Shearers have definitely improved their menu/service/ or something compared to what it used to be. The food is tasty, portion size is very generous, service is quick and prompt and the price is quite cheap compared to most pubs or bars. Definitely better than the Norfolk, as there's more variety and better food.
Having lived in the area for over 5 years we decided to try it on a Saturday night for dinner. Staff we very helpful and friendly and the meal was delicious, Saturday night was extremely busy and it would pay to book to guarantee a table. We'll be back.
Had lunch there with a social club and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff and the food. I am Coeliac, they catered well for my gluten free meal. A great experience to visit the gardens and buildings as part of the property.

Love my local! Huge meals great value so many choices! Big kids playroom! Also have a great public bar area with entertainment/bands and karaoke on weekends. Shows all the big sports events! Lovely friendly staff!
Just from the name it sounds rough that's cause it is.Its full off Logan scum that can't afford to move to GoldCoast so they move to Ormeau (just to say they live on the GoldCoast) typical bogan pub...
What a disappointing return visit for a local. The Service and food was way below expectations and prices were for fine dining-not justifiable for quality. Low end Pub quality. Off our to do list.
Love this place! Always great food. Great family atmosphere. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Great for lunch or dinner.

Huge servings of food. Lovely, helpful staff. Cosy pub, a few pokes but not a lot. Steak is always cooked to perfection.
