We were very disappointed with our visit. The drinks and food are absolutely atrocious. My Old Fashion was watered down because they don’t use the right ingredients. Others who accompanied me also were not happy with the drinks. The food was very disappointing as well. The wings which are labeled the best in DC are certain not the best anywhere. They also tack on a 20% surcharge, 5% administrative fee, and a 20% gratuity. The whole experience was very disappointing. Our intent was to have dinner, drinks, and stay for a smoke but we never even made it to the smoke part. This is one of the best combinations of a sports bar and cigar lounge in Washington, DC. The service is fantastic most of the time. Their signature chicken wings and fresh-cut fries are outstanding! The wine and spirits selection is extensive and of high quality, and the same goes for their impressive variety of cigars. You’ll typically find a notable gathering of business leaders here on any given day. As for parking, street parking is limited, so I recommend using one of the many nearby garages.

I came here recently with a group of guys to have cigars and a few drinks. It’s a nice laid back atmosphere to do just that. The service was good and the beers were a good selection for a solid price. I would say stick to the beer, wine or regular spirits here as the the cocktails were pricey and left something to be desired. I would say to beware that they put bottled water at everyone’s seat and then charged a premium for anyone that opened it and I was not a fan of that practice.

I enjoyed the atmosphere; especially the outdoor seating. The staff was very pleasant and engaging. The food was pretty good...better than I expected.You can take you own cigars, but you have to spend $30 minimum. I consider that a fair tradeoff. I had my own cigars, so I was guaranteed to have cigars that I like, and I had a great atmosphere to enjoy them in.I don't get to D.C. often, but I plan to be back at Shelly's during my next trip. I have been several times. It is always an enjoyable, yet calm atmosphere. The cocktails are lovely- especially the Absolute Sunburst and Amaretto Colada. Their selection of spirits is phenomenal.Even though I have only visited a handful of times, they always remember me and greet enthusiastically.

Shelly's Back Room is an exceptional cigar bar located in the Washington DC area. I've visited twice now, and both experiences have been wonderful. The selection of cigars and the ambiance are truly fantastic!

Nice late night vibe for smoking cigars, Drinks and quick bites.I had one of their non-alcoholic strawberry spritzers but did not like it. It was extremely sweet and it didn't have much flavor.
