I went to this restaurant this evening after work and ordered by phone. I was told my order would be ready in ten to fifteen minutes. When I arrived ten minutes later, I had to wait twenty minutes before being told that my order was not taken by the person I spoke to on the phone. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Everyone wears a mask in shops these days, but at Shelly's they make you take off your mask to speak to them because they claim they can't understand you. This is unacceptable during a pandemic! They even laughed at me when I spoke to them while wearing a mask. Additionally, there were eight staff members working there and not one of them was wearing a mask.
I do not recommend ordering the chicken super at this restaurant. They claim to have never changed their recipe, but I have had it multiple times before and it was not what I was expecting. After a long 12-hour shift, I came home to find Mexican chicken on chips instead of the chicken super I thought I had ordered. When I called to let them know, they insisted it was the same thing. Additionally, I ordered 2 sausages but only received 1 for the high price of 2.20. The food was poor quality and the customer service was lacking when I called to address the issue. In the end, I ended up giving the food to my dog.
We looked at the menu. A lady with white hair leaning on the counter ask me what I wanted. I looked at my young son, ask him, then I repeat what he said to the member of staff. She give me a price. The price I saw was different. I pointed to the price on the board. Her rude reply to me in a bossy voice was NO YOU NEED TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS A KIDS MEAL. I was really realty embarrassed I had never been there before. Why couldn't she ask me if it was a kids meal, as I am a paying customer. I really was mortified the way she spoke to me. I will not be going back to Shellys Chip shop ever again.
When they had the chip van, they were actually okay, it was good value for money, then they moved to a new (practically the old building but done up), you wouldve thought things would go up a notch. Time I went to get a fish supper, it wasnt fast food, waiting ages, fish was okay, chips were as hard as the road, you would've thought they used the leftovers from the previous day. Maybe they've gone up to higher level since I got something out of there.

Shellys after speaking to someone in the fish market I now know you do not use fresh fish !! After my experience and my families experience I believe your fish is frozen and could be for 6 months !!! This was an experts advise ! Totally disappointed and the side effects we all had were not normal
Shellys carryout fish chip premises dead on re the quality of the items on sale. Beside this chip shop is a Pizza carryout unit which is dead on . same ownership ? Ulster people 's utter DEAD ON meaning Tickety Boo Spot on . So there ye go.
Have visited here a few times and on each occasion the food has been very good. Well presented, tasty, and served with a smile. Try the Taco Mince, it is delicious. The premises are very clean, I couldn't fault it.
The fish was delicious and well-prepared. I placed an order over the phone for takeout and it was ready for me upon arrival. Despite driving 20 minutes back home, the food remained hot and fresh.

Great place to eat, the foods lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful, would recommend! Can be busy as it's very popular but they do take phone orders and also you can pay by card
