Shepherd Flock Pub

I am writing this on behalf of my wife who went for lunch with a friend today. First of all, they had to ring the pub as it looked closed because the outside lights were not on, despite it being a somewhat dingy and wet day. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. My wife and her friend were impressed with the scope of the menu until being informed that several items were off, no shepherds pie (how ironic) only one gammon steak. What a disappointing visit to this pub. The young bar girl was helpful friendly but that was all I can say when trying to be positive. The seating was uncomfortable (we did move twice), someone was smoking inside the kitchen with the door only open about 3 inches and to top it off I had an expensive vegan burger with nothing in apart from a small burger, lettuce and tomato (no vegan cheese, mayo, relish, onion etc) that said I did have a piece of metal in there!!! which looked like the tip of a knife. Luckily I didn't swallow it. We mentioned it to the staff and said we didn't want anything off the meal but to make them aware, and we didn't even get an apology or anything said to us. Such a...

We visited this pub at 8pm on a Friday and it was nicely quiet. Staff were lovely and very quick to offer us drinks and a seat in the restaurant. The food menu had lots of choices. We opted for steak and chips and a full rack of ribs. The food portions were big (too big really, I imagine they get a lot of food waste) and the flavour was OK but a bit on the bland side. My partner really enjoyed the prawn cocktail and said it was the best part! All in all, glad we visited and would go back if I was in the area.

Very poor service, very poor food,too high the prices. I had to call the waitress to clear our table then again to see the dessert menu, then again to take the order. The restaurant was not busy only one other table of 5 or 6. Seemed more interested in talking to customers at the bar. I ordered salmon with pasta in tomato sauce. It's not hard to make a nice tomato sauce but opening a can of chopped tomatoes and adding it to pasta is just lazy. Very disappointing evening

Stopped in following a 10 mile walk. We both had the roast (one lamb and one chicken); I'm pretty fussy with roast dinners and I can say it was the best I've had in a pub for as long as I can remember! Almost as good as my mum's. Homemade roast potatoes, lots of different veggies, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and lush gravy. Also had an americano and the coffee was really great. I'd make a special trip here for Sunday lunch. Bargain too at £10.95.

Mums surprise birthday meal, friendly service, food was excellent, good portions and hot food and as there was 24 of us well done to the chef. A really nice atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the bar staff and waitresses, we will definitely go back.

I don't know what I expected from a pub on a roundabout, but it was worse than I imagined. The beer garden out the back was like a building site, it looked like it was falling apart. Server was nice though. My friend ordered food which didn't look too bad

My partner and I popped in for a drink. It was our first time visiting the pub we will definitely be returning. The staff were very welcoming, and the food and drink were delicious.

Friendly staff,my liver and bacon worth having,prices food reasonable. Beer well kept,had a couple of pints of bitter.

A friendly relaxed atmosphere. Food was good. My family and I had a really enjoyable evening here
